Julia van de Kar is an interdisciplinary artist, teacher and performer and graduated from the Toneelacademie, Institute of Performing Arts Maastricht.

"we possess a universal language that breaks through all social barriers: our voice and movement. unique to each person, yet understandable to everyone. a quality that should not be underestimated or forgotten."
Her work often moves within an in-between space, between the hidden and the visible.
Through her performances, she creates a meeting place for performers and audience where first impressions confront, mirror, and redefine one another.
Alongside her artistic work, she develops workshops rooted in physical expression, voice, and theatre — in which participation becomes a means for social inclusion and shared creation
She's also a freelance art educator at Marres, House for Contemporary Culture, where she leads workshops tied to the exhibitions.
She dances — on stage or in the street — writes on the train between Amsterdam and Maastricht, and still hopes to run a marathon one day.
